Our Curriculum
Montessori Curriculum
The Montessori curriculum promotes children’s self-discipline, independence and responsibility. Children learn how to be self-motivated as they choose activities that appeal to them and are free to explore these activities at their own pace. The Montessori program lays a solid foundation of knowledge in language, mathematics, geography, zoology, botany, history, music and art. Children learn practical life skills such as cooking, carpentry, sewing and cleaning. One of the most important aspects of our classroom is cultivating respect, independence and confidence.Montessori education is education for life.
Mandarin Curriculum
Our Mandarin curriculum is taught based on children’s interest levels with creative activities and games. Children learn to understand and speak in Mandarin and read and write simplified Chinese characters. At Wonderworld Montessori, learning is never dull. We do not only introduce language but also explore traditional Chinese culture with children. We blend beautiful Chinese culture into language learning from hieroglyphs to idioms and allusions, from Chinese festivals to solar terms, from dumplings to tea. We utilize a wide range of material and media because we know interest is the child’s best teacher. We hope to cultivate their interest to explore and prepare a solid foundation for future growth.
Enrichment Curriculum
This is a fun program conducted in the afternoon, including activities like music and movement, yoga and sports. The program involves some basic movements to help improve children’s flexibility, balance, and coordination and develop their sense of rhythm, musicality, imagination, and creativity.
Arts are also a part of the Enrichment program, such as clay and painting. Arts is a form of communication – a way of expressing oneself. Everyone has the potential to be an artist and to express their beliefs about themselves, but not everyone has the environment to nurture them.
